Any reviews or concerns about the new blu ray releases of Gigi and An American In Paris??
Has anyone ordered these?
I thought I saw Gigi with only a DD 5.1 soundtrack.

not sure about japan, but I know the France release of 'Gigi" is I guess around now, whereas the other film is not due until like December I believe.
I am also most interested in these releases.
the sd versions of these restorations are already out, and have been for some time.
I'm sure these bds will look amazing.
I do hope for lossless also.
That would be a shame if that is not included.

an american in paris looks phenomenal but 2 things about Gigi bothered me

1. it was as boring as Batsh*t
2. there seemed something wrong with the reds in the transfer (?source related) : the velvet chairs and wallpaper of Gigi's room looked like a case of the chroma upsampling error gone mad. Very gawdish/oversaturated

with musicals like The Sound Of Music and My Fair Lady available i dont know why studios have to throw us crumbs like Gigi

Dear Studio Execs
C'mon fellas we didnt spend 10's of thousands of dollars upgrading our home theatre equipment to die a slow death waiting for the more venerable classics!!
