Default From Beyond

Im watching this on Chiller right now and I remember the cover art for this on VHS. Its the same people from Re-Animator. This is freaky.

Now mentioning this, has anyone seen the whole thing? Since this is letterboxed, I can assume this is on dvd somewhere. So maybe then a blu release isnt out of the question..

MGM put this out a couple of years ago and it looks pretty good on DVD. I can't imagine they will return to it for Blu-ray any time soon, but you never know. It would look good with all those crazy pink and purple shades.

Yes. It looks pretty good for dvd also. Stuart Gordon mentions in the commentary that it was remastered in hi-def for that dvd release(9/07). So, I guess a release on BD will eventually happen.

Monsters HD (R.I.P.) had a lot to do with the HD restoration of this film, and they aired it on their channel. It looked amazing. I don't understand why it would be that expensive to put on Blu-ray since the dirty work has already been done. Then again... I don't understand a lot of things about the decisions of Blu-ray releases.

Definately From Beyond on blu would be nice!

How about a Re-Animator box set with:

Re-Animator: Special Edition, Bride of Re-Animator: Special Edition, Beyond Re-Animator: Special Edition

Maybe even some kind of special packaging as well.

Is this the one with the hottie blonde who's all dressed up in Bondage gear? I'd get it just for that scene

You'll see much more of her in Reanimator, but she is certainly not to be missed in this one either

why did Monsters HD go belly up? - what a major loss, at least some of the MGM horror films are being presented as such on MGM HD

I recorded it on my DVR as soon as I turned it on. Stuart Gordon has kinda been a hit or miss guy for me. I think he did Castle Freak and I was so disappointed by it.
