Default Potential Little Big Planet purchase for me...need help

I have a question for all you Little Big Planet players? I have never been a fan of games where you create your own level, world, etc (my sims, etc). But this game has me intrigued, especially after the Metal Gear pack announcment. Does it deliver a fun single player expierence, if I dont plan to spend most of the time building my own levels? What do ya'll think. I have some money and exchanges to make the next few days Thanks for you input!

Yes, there is a single-player mode that enables the creation tools and it is very enjoyable. The levels vary in difficulty, from ones that challenge experienced gamers, mostly due to iffy jumping mechanics, and others that my 3 year old nephew enjoyed.

Its very enjoyable for single player. It has its own single player campaign, and if you don't want to spend your time creating levels, and you have internet access you can just play everyone elses levels by your self. Its a pretty awesome game.

The single player campaign is amazing even without the online component. It complements it, not replaces it.

I would suggest renting it first. Just because other people like it, doesn't mean you will like it. I was thinking of getting it but I rented it first, and I'm glad I did. While it is a good game, I found I got bored rather quickly with none of my friends having the game.

True.

If you are iffy about this game then maybe you should rent it first. It was a no brainer for me and my family though and a very good purchase.

I agree with what everybody else has said. I haven't even built my own level yet and love this game as a single player game. It's not really like anything out there right now. My wife and 6 year old love it too. It's a game for all ages.

The other cool thing is that you can also go online and play levels created by other people and some of them are very good. I was just playing one today by thegide (psn id, not sure what his screen name here is) it's called altar of palancthar. Really nice job and cool to play other peoples levels. Plus you get "unlocks" and trophies from playing their levels too.

This game is one of the must own games for PS3, in my opinion.
