TrueHd question - Blu-ray Forum

I have a sony STR-DG 820 and a Sony BDP-S300, how do it I get TrueHD from my surround sound? Thanks for any help

Change the "HDMI Audio" setting on the S300 from Auto to PCM. Your 820 will display "Linear PCM" when being sent the TrueHD signal.

If you're hooked up via HDMI, set your player to output audio via Linear PCM and HDMI. According to the spec sheet on the site, the player can't bitstream TrueHD (or DTS-HD MA for that matter). That should get you what you need.

Unless there's been a firmware update and the site needs updated, doesn't look like that player will output DTS-HD MA at all- bitstream or PCM.
