Default The Prestige Japanese version

Sadly the European version only has a Dolby Digital track (640kbps). The US version has a PCM track, but is region locked. The Japanese has a PCM and a Dolby Digital True HD track, but I can not find any information about the region code (tried the standard sources)?! Can anyone confirm whether this version is locked of not?! This version would be a nice alternative for Europeans.

Thanks in advance.

I found that info too. But as you said; the covers are to small.

I think the US/EU covers are much better (mysterious). But that's about taste.

I am in the US and I got a copy of this movie in one of the five free movies rebate programs and it seems my PCM track is locked. The movie starts without going to the main menu first and when I access it through the pop up feature on my remote, it will not let me change from DD to PCM! Any suggestions?

I am not convinced at this moment. Didn't they also release Eternal Sunshine (region free)? As the Prestige title also has been released on HD DVD in Japan, I am curious whether your statement is correct. Thanks for your info though!

They are, but they're not necessarily region locked

Japan is a Region A country. But that does not mean all the Blu Ray titles are Region A locked. For example; Eternal Sunshine and Trainspotting are not region locked. That means they can be played at a region B device. I live in Europe, so I need to know whether it is locked or not (as stated in the first post).

Edit: Wickywoo was faster. :P
