Default Blu-ray player Deals? besides...

I am in the last second market to buy my father a blu-ray player for Christmas. Whithout doing extensive research. Does anyone know of a good deal on a blu-ray player at a major retailer, as it is too late to have one shipped to me? I have seen the Target add, but never have heard of that player before.

Any help?

Target has an Olivia for $150 right now. I think that's the one I'm going to get my parents.

In my local Wal-Mart, (Columbia, SC) they had the Sony BDPS300 new for 169.99.

In my opinion, I'd spend the extra dough and get a Sony before getting that Olevia.

Just my 0.02

Agreed...however, spend the extra and buy the Sony BDP-S350 or the BX1 (same model) at Costco.......it's less problematic and faster loading.

How much can you spend, and do you care about extra features? Either go low with a Sony 350, panasonic 35, or samsung 1500. I caved and got my parents a samsung 2550 for the netflix and pandora streaming.

Personally, i wouldnt go for the Olevia. I would spend the extra $50-100 and get a nice beginner blu ray player such as the Sony BDP350 or Samsung 1500. I just saw the Samsung 1500 at BB a couple days ago for 199.99

Blockbuster has a Sylvania Blu-ray player for $199.99 and you get 4 free blu-ray disc rentals with it. That's $20 right there

My local Costco (Bountiful, Utah) had the Sylvania BD player (Funai made) for $149 that included an HDMI cable. They also had the Samsung 1500 for $179 that included an HDMI cable. Not sure when the sale ends. But those are solid deals. I would probably stay away from Olevia.

Hey, so I'm new to Blu-ray, and i just got the Olevia BDP-110 for Christmas...i was just wondering what makes it different from the one that is only $50 more. Is it the brand security? or something in the hardware?
