the original was supposed to be terrifying-I found it to be rather lame and unappealing. I hope the remake is better.

I thought the trailer began well but then as it progressed it seemed to reveal the whole movie...

I thought considering its age, it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was the lame attempts at comedy with the sheriff and deputy. It wasn't funny and just felt out of place.

And was I just seeing things, or does the trailer
[Show spoiler]imply that the daughter ends up surviving the gang's attack?
If so that's a pretty radical departure from the original.

Yes, I thought the original was pretty good to considering when it was made.

I got the same feeling. Thought i was seeing things too.

Of course I was wondering when they were going to remake this. With Wes Craven producing maybe it will turn out as good as The Hills Have Eyes remake did.

whoa, that looks pretty sweet. I would definitely like to catch this mostly because I enjoy watching movies where the tables are turned. AND! Did you guys know that Monica Potter is 38 years old? Good lord, she is gorgeous.

not that i care all that much being a horror movie. but why are people ruining the movie by talking about what's in the TRAILER. as if they showed the ending to the movie in it....

this has serious potential in my opinion

the original was alright considering the time it was made and the budget.

Can't wait for them to remake "I Spit On Your Grave" you know it's coming...

This looks like a damn LL Bean commercial.

I'm not sure what you mean by "ruining the movie." Surely you'd expect discussion of the contents of the trailer when the link for it is in the first post?

people were talking about being upset about the girl in the trailer looking like she lived...

i've never seen the original..so i didnt know she dies. no big deal..but we do have a spoiler tag for a reason

edit: actually..my bad..the one person who did mention it used a spoiler tag. it just seemed like others didnt..sorry!

Well I'm in agreement there. That's why I used the tag in my post.

I suppose the movie could still be good with the new twist, but I think that takes a lot of the steam out of the final act.

In any event, I hope it's better than that piece of crap movie Chaos that came out a few years ago, which was as blatant a rip-off of LHOTL as I've ever seen.

... "The Hills Have Eyes" remake turned out good? Have to agree to disagree on that.

... Why is it good that she is doing more "mainstream" (i.e. studio-backed) films? If you really are a fan of hers, I don't see why you wouldn't seek out whatever she has been a part of, regardless of whether or not it was widely-released.

The second part of that I agree with completely. As to the first part, sometimes it's nice to see a favorite actor/actress who normally is in genre/indie/under the radar films get the larger exposure and paycheck that a major studio film provides.
