Surround speaker advice... - Blu-ray Forum

Hey, all... just have a quick question about replacing my old surround speakers. They are only 4ohm speakers from an old HTIB that I have finally replaced

. I just got a new Yamaha RX-V663

, and I don't want to use these crappy speakers for my surrounds anymore. I don't have a high budget set-up, but I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for a pair of speakers between $50-$100 (preferably at the lower end of this range) that would be good replacements. Everything I have right now is Polk, but if something cheaper will sound good, and since it's just for the rears, then that's fine. I have seen several people mention the smallish Insignias from Best Buy, any thoughts? At only like $40 they are a good deal. Also, if I wanted to complete the set-up in 7.1 instead of 5.1, would the old HTIB speakers be alright? I understad lower ohm speakers can damage a receiver, but I didn't know if this was true for just the surrounds. Thanks for all your help in advance.

Sorry, I should have specified a little... something I can get at a B&M is preferable. I have some problems with online ordering due to my lack of ever being home at the proper time to pick up/sign for stuff (in my final year of Veterinary school.... kind of a time suck:/). Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I believe Parts Express gives you the option of having them shipped by Post Office. This way, you can go and pick them up at your convenience. Most Post Offices are open on Saturday mornings.
