Default Best sub $300 Blu player?

My PS3 recently died on me (again) and I'm thinking I might as well just replace it with a player. Any suggestions on one under $300 and any cons that might come with them?

Panasonic's BD-35 the only "problem" with it is it doesn't have the 7.1 analog outputs like it's sister unit the BD55. So if you have an older recevier without HDMI imputs you won't be able to get your 7.1 surround.

Agreed, but since he had a PS3 the OP was probrably using HDMI for 7.1 Panny 35 - excellent choice.

Thanks, I've been looking around BB's site. This one looks like it deserves a good look.

BTW I have HDMI so no problems there.

Default BD35 is being discontinued

Panasonic is discontinuing the BD35 player - it was released only several months ago. Reports are that it is an excellent player. If you want one, it seems that Costco has some stock left. You better act soon. Expectations are that Panasonic will announce its successor at CES.

I drove all over town and couldn't find the 35. In fact most of the stores were completely sold out of players. In the end I settled on the LG BD-300. Watched TDK and so far so good.

Now to check out the netflix streaming feature.

The Sony S350 is on par with the Panasonic BD35.

I've had the same problem locating the BD35 at a reasonable price (or find it in stock at all!). Saw that Costco.com was sold out but picked up the BD35 at my local Costco yesterday for $230 w/ the $50 off coupon. I feel like I got a steal considering how hard it is to find this unit.
