Screen Size Problem - Blu-ray Forum

I have a real urgent problem theat needs to be answered, whenever i play a bluray movie on my sony player the previews are in a smaller size on the screen but when the bluray movie starts it is in normal size and fits my tv screen. But when i try to play a regular movie on my player it is all in a smaller size such as the previews and is really starting to bug me. i have no idea how to fix this and need an answer.

Make sure you have the sony to output 16:9 (in the setup menu)

I guess your TV is setup like mine. I got set for " just scan" for picture size instead of 16:9. Just scan shows exactly the original resolution so previous that aren't 1080p will look smaller while the movie will fill the screen. I don't mind this but maybe you should change your res. from full scan or just scan to 16:9. My TV is samsung by the way

illl try both of those, im gonna to update my blu ray too. i dont know if that will fix it or not but i have to update it anyway because of slow load times.

What movie are you trying to watch? What do you mean by a smaller screen? Are you talking about "Black Bars" on the top and bottom or do you have them on all sides?

im assuming by you saing "regular movies" you mean DVD's? Sounds to me like your player isnt upconverting...
