The second time I watched Quantum of Solace on my 18 month old Samsung 1500, it began to skip, studder and sometimes lock up in chapter 24 & 25. It will sometime hang the machine. I made sure the firmware was updated to the most recent but it continues to happen. I took the disc to a local Best Buy and it played fine on one of their low end players and looked all ok. Anyone have any ideas? I don't have many Blu-Ray titles and I play DVDs on an upconverting Toshiba so it does not get much use. I've found very little on cleaning the lens like on cd players, but is that an option?
I'm considering springing for an Oppo 80 or a Panasonic DMP-BD80 (211$@ Best Buy) Kenneth (Master Drago) Drake |

Oppo by all accounts is a great machine.
If you want to go "Budget" the Sony N460 is nice (I got some for gifts for people..... it does everything you need it to do including Netflix with the only downfall being it's not wifi capable without getting something additional.... but you can connect with ethernet etc) As far as your player is concerned.... It sounds like a laser issue, and I'd guess it's only going to get worse..... does it do it on other movies, and how many have you tried? |
