Canada [REC]/[REC]2 Boxset

Anyone here own this? I just found out about it because of the deal banner at that top of this site. I really like both of the movies and it seems like a pretty good value. How's the PQ? Any extras? If anyone could take pics of the set too I'd really appreciate it.

yes, got it last year (assuming it is the same one), the quality is OK for what it is.

From the back cover the extras are:
Rec1: the making of rec promotional gallery, interview gallery the cutting room and production notes
Rec2: making of, behind the scenes, extended scenes and deleted scenes

Also note, audio is lossless in Spanish and French, English is only subs.

Also if you didn't know, both movies come in separate cases.

I have it, and it's fantastic.

REC 1 is loaded with extras and it took me a couple of days to get though it all. I can't detail it all because it's been a while since I've watched it and there's so much, but the full Making-of doc is included (only a section of it was included on Sony's DVD).

REC 2 has a decent amount of extras as well, though it's no where near as exhaustive as REC 1.

PQ wise, I'd imagine this is as good as the films can look considering the way they were shot. Any kind of visual flaws I could find in the picture were present on Sony's DVD as well.

I was really surprised by the quality of the set considering it's a Canadian only release with a low price. Definitely worth picking up if you're a fan of the movies.

I'd like to get it but the shipping to the US (from Amazon.ca) is what's holding me back for now. It's like $10 (believe it's $7.99 per shipment + $1.99 per item). So, figure I'll wait until I can order several things to help offset that $7.99 per shipment fee. Christmas-time might be good.

I ordered the set from Amazon.ca to the US and they gave me a crazy estimate also but it only took about 10 days. You might get the same result.

I picked it up from Future Shop about 2 weeks ago for $19.99. Excellent buy.

I had this on order, but figured it might be out of print since they've expanded the usually ships within date to 1 to 2 months. I wound up going the 3rd party route which cost a little more but at least they had this in stock.

So I just ordered this, and based on the entry in Bluray.com it appears to be region free. However the company I ordered from has reminded me multiple times that it is a region b copy. Can anyone confirm this?

My copy plays fine on my Region A player. Canada is Region A.
