View Poll Results: Do you want warner to release BDs as soon as they are available or wait for BD-J
Getting Blood Diamond early was a great move. Forget the IME and online polls ! 32 86.49%
We got the short end of the stick. Warner should have waited for BD-J. 5 13.51%

Default Wait for all BD-J Features or get it NOW ?

After reading the Blood Diamond thread, i became curious as to what most people here want.
Would you rather warned have postponed Blood Diamond or leave it as is without the In movie experience and online warner polls

Get it now. All I want is the movie in hi-def. Didn't care about extras when I bought laserdiscs or DVD's, so this scenario is no different.

I agree w/ goodstuff. The 2nd edition of Sin City was cool, but give me HD.

IME might be interesting sometimes, but it isn't important enough to delay the title.

I very, very rarely watch any extras included on a disc. The only thing I might do is play a game or something, or give something that is 'new' a try. But after I do anything once, I never use it again.

So for me, give me the disc with or without extras, I could care less either way. If the inclusion of extras is holding up a disc, then leave them off and give me the best audio and video possible.

What I want is optimum audio and video quality. I really don't care for the extras that much, they are nice to have but in no way essential. I don't have the time to watch 12 hours of extra features after watching a three hour movie (e.g. Pearl Harbor, 4-disc special edition DVD set. I bought this release because it has the Director's Cut not because of the extras. I also have the BD release and I am quite satisfied with what the BD has to offer in the extras department).

I don't want to watch the same movie over again just to listen to an audio commentary.

Looks like this poll might be the only one i've seen that will be 100% for one choice. I've been thinking though, since Warner is releasing the HDDVD almost on month later, they could technically release the blu-ray version at the same time as HDDVD and use that extra time to maybe encode it with a less compressed MPEG4/AVC Codec with a consistently high bitrate and perhaps include a 24bit TRUEHD track on a BD-50. Now that would be a treat for us !
Let the HDDVD people vote online with blood diamond and listen to some people talk while they are watching the movie while the blu-ray folks get nicer PQ ! I don't ever see warner doing this though unfortunately. Its only a Blu-Dream

Extras are worthless. Movie only. Keep the trend going warner, screw IME for now and double dip for IME later!

I don't care much for special features. but the ones they listed for hddvd looked kind of cool. I wish if they're giving us the content shaft that they'd lower the price a few bucks. why should we pay for the extra development of special features we don't get?

Sorry to buck the trend. Online polls are indeed a waste of time, but for some punters, IME is a major loss. I'd certainly go for the HD-DVD in preference if I felt that the Blu-ray edition of something gave a raw deal compared to the alternative.

A very good point. The pricepoint should be lower than the HD-DVD in instances such as these.
