Okay 6th Avenue has the Denon AVR-2309CI @ $561.75

This seems like a sweet price point for a good receiver. Someone talk me down from buying this, please :/

I just bought one last week for $650 and thought I got a good deal. Jump on it.

The 988 on Amazon (essentially the same receiver), was at a $549.99 price point. It didn't last more than a week, as it was 1/2 of the original MSRP.

Here is the blu-ray.com thread for the 2309CI. Just some helpful info.

These discontinued receivers are great values. The biggest updates with the newer models are more HDMI inputs. Its up to you to balance your needs, wants, and budget - but it is a damn solid receiver.

Pulled the trigger on this.

Was leaning towards an Onkyo 806 series do to THX Ultra2 certification but I was scared off with the blue dot & heat issues that have been cited extensively.

Thanks for the feedback. I think this will be a nice core to my new home theater.
