Default Insignia Bd Player Version 1

I am having a problem with dreamworks blurays. I have the pioneer vsx-01, and when i play them, it doesnt recongnize trueHD, either that or it doesnt lit up on my reciever. It is hard to tell, because it still sounds so good. I was wondering if anybody else having simliar problem and if there is a way to fix it. All of my other trueHD blurays work perfectl fine and dts HD-maser. And it only happens with shrek 3 and kungfu panda, as these are the only dreamworks bd's i have

thanks for any feedback

I thought maybe a firmware update could help fix your problem but i can't find a support page.
You might just have to wait a while until they put out new firmware.

Iam just guessing with this one .I could be wrong.

Sorry if this doesn't help

Yes, it does help, and i did think about firmware update, but with such a cheap player, dont think they will ever have.

So u are saying that problems like this do occur and i just have to wait. I was wondering if anybody has this player and if they can bitstream dreamworks blurays?????????????

thanks for any feedback

howdy, i have the same 1st generation player (which by the way works really great) and have similar issues but not only with DreamWorks movies. I think the issue is the movie, how it's encoded not the player. I have the transformers on blu-ray by DreamWorks and it plays fine and via bitstream, lights up my player DTHD. I have the same problem with kung fu panda as you do, another DreamWorks movie; can't speak for the Shrek the third as I don't own it. I don't believe it's the player as mush as the movie itself. We can only ask if people with players other than ours, that have it set to bitstream out to an A/V receiver that decodes DTHD actually lights up DTHD or not. Again, this is a great player for the money. It has played every movie i own and i own 109+ blu-ray movies to include all of the newest releases. the player bitstreams DTHD & DTS HD MA 5 or 7.1 out to my receiver without exception for all of them except, for kung-fu panda, my money is on it being a movie issue.

thanks for the respone, solarrdadd, yes i agree it is a great player and plays all off my movies, bitstreaming. I probably will not buy another player, until the next one is profile 2 and wireless capable.
Yes i have transformers also and it does light up trueHD, forgot about that one being dreamworks.
I will buy the next dreamworks film that comes out and see if have the same problem, but still sounds great either way. I was just wondering if I had set it up wrong, but seeing that u have same problem, i probably didnt.
Oh yeah, do u have any more dreamworks movies and do they work????
