I'm not a mega-Trekkie but I am a fan of the movies with the original cast (2, 6, 4, 3, 1, 5 is how I'd rank them). I just don't feel compelled to spend $100 for the deluxe box set when the three best movies are available separately for $10-15 each. I know you can get "The Search For Spock" with the "trilogy" set but considering how much more that set costs than it does to get II and IV it seems like a ripoff. Plus I hate Star Trek V and want that movie about as much as I want Batman And Robin. Any shot in hell that Paramount will make the odd movies individually released as well, because I would like to have 1 and 3, but considering the difference in price between getting 2, 4 and 6 and getting the box set, I don't feel like it's a deal at all.
Any shot of seeing the odd numbered movies, even the dreaded Star Trek V as single discs, maybe when the second movie comes out in 2012? |
