Since I am going to be sitting 10-11 foot from the TV would the 50" be ok?I have a 50"LCD now but would like a bigger screen.I am thinking of ordering the 50PZ800U today but will half to wait a week or so to get the 58" because of the price difference.Still I don't want to regret getting the smaller screen....

Wait a week and get the 58. The sitting distance is fine for the 58. I can guarantee you that you will regret if U buy the 50. On the other hand, If U go 58; U will be thankful that U did not buy smaller. If U can afford the 58, do not hesitate and take it. U can get one for around $2600 online which is the price for a 50 in-store.

10-11 ft is definitely not overkill with a 58.

You answered this already by saying what you really feel. But if you need confirmation from others on here to make you feel better, your gut is telling you not to go small, so get the 58 and STICK WITH IT in your mind and dont even consider going with the 50 even if you are paying a bit more. I guarantee you that you wont send that 58 back once you get it hooked up and running.

For that distance I'd go for a projector with a screen of 92" or larger.
Typically the viewing distance sould be between 1.5 and 2 times the diagonal size of the screen. That translates to a screen size of anywhere from 60" to 88". When translating that to a projector screen many people use picture height instead of diagonal length. I like to sit about 3xHeight, which for a 16x9 screen is about 92", for a 2.35 screen is about 110". |
