I would be more afraid to give my credit card number out to some stranger on the phone...

Isn't putting on a web site the same thing?

At least if you order online it gets encrypted, and some sites delete the card data after the charge. With a phone order, you are giving your precious 16 digits to some guy, who can do with it as he pleases.

Exactly, if I can't picture what he looks like and know where he works, so I could kick his ass. Then I would think twice about giving my numbers out over the phone. Besides that, when you order over the phone, they just enter it into the computer.

Yeah, your friend is sort of living on his own false pretense.

The average secure site is way more secure than that phone line. Not to mention that you are just directly giving your number to a person on blind trust.

Overstock.com, I used to order DVDs on the phone from them all the time and shipping is cheap and I would get them in like 7 to 8 days. I recommend them. I might just go and see what they have on blu on their site right now.
