Yeah it's an awesome film.
We won't be carrying over the interviews sadly although we did look into it. The deleted scenes are really cool though (total exclusive for the US release I think...) and we actually are the only blu-ray release that had those 'devil scenes' regraded and approved by Carlos Reygadas. For some strange reason one particular shot in both of those scenes is way brighter than it should be. We've corrected that. |

In my opinion optional subtitles are always the better choice. I guess a great number of viewers won't need the subtitles; Post Tenebras Lux being a spanish language film and 37.6 million people in the U.S speaking spanish. http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank...non-hispanics/ Last edited by Andrew-Kenneth; 12-15-2013 at 11:02 PM. |

Just watched the US blu. Though I don't have the UK blu to compare, I don't think anyone will be missing much due to the lack of lossless audio. It's mostly dialogue and forest sounds, and no score. The audio in no way seemed lacking to me, though lossless is always preferable.
Similar thoughts on the imposed english subs. Normally this could be a deal breaker, but practically all the visually standout scenes are sans dialogue. Unlike a lot of other well shot films, I never found the subtitles obtrusive, or detracting from the visuals. Just the way these scenes were shot & composed, it's not like say, any Fellini film. The fact that the US disc has the director's color corrected devil scenes far outweighs these other concerns in the US discs favor, as these are by far the most bravura visuals in the film. Still, if I had money to burn, it would be interesting to compare how the rest of the film looks on the UK disc. |
