Exclamation Can I trust this buyer?

A buyer responded to my Craigslist ad and wants to send me money over paypal so I can ship my product to a certain place. Usually people come over to see it first but this buyer didn't even come over. I assume he lives overseas.
Got an email by PayPal that the money has been send but will only be added to my account once I give them the tracking number. At least it seems legit up to this point but I'm still not sure.
btw what does he mean buy "my account has been deducted"??

Here is the email I just received:

Hi Seller,
I just sent your payment successfully using paypal and i send
$360 to your account with the shipping cost via USPS Express Mail and
i'll want you to get the item for shipped immediately you received my
payment notification from paypal.and i'll want you to shipped the item
out today,Cos My account has been deducted...

Here Is The Shipping Address :

XXX

I want the package to be sent by USPS Express Mail Service only
because its very cheap, secure and reliable,I will be waiting for the
tracking number.I will like to do more business with you after you
have completed this transaction by Shipping out the item.Thank you

Please Note : Thet shipment tracking info will start with EB,EH,EQ,EE and EA.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Here are the fake PayPal emails I received:

No. Sounds like a scam to me. Where is the shipping address he wants you to ship it to?

What am I missing, here? Why is this a scam? If you have received the $360 in your PayPal account, then there is no scam. Are you saying you do not have a PayPal accoun? If so, then yeah, it's a scam.

edit: Either I didn't read the part about PayPal not depositing the $$ until the item shipped, or you added that while I was typing. Either way, I would contact PayPal directly. This smells of a scam.

Make sure the Paypal e-mail is legit, I've never heard of Paypal doing that.

you definitely need to read the craigslist warnings to avoid scams...basically, all items should be pick up only.
Sounds like this guy is gonna file a dispute after he receives your item, saying he never received it or its not the correct item etc.

Definitely scam.

Avoiding Scams and Fraud

* DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON - follow this one simple rule and you will avoid 99% of the scam attempts on craigslist.
* NEVER WIRE FUNDS VIA WESTERN UNION, MONEYGRAM or any other wire service - anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer.
* FAKE CASHIER CHECKS & MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON, and BANKS WILL CASH THEM AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE when the fake is discovered weeks later.
* CRAIGSLIST IS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TRANSACTION, and does not handle payments, guarantee transactions, provide escrow services, or offer "buyer protection" or "seller certification"
* NEVER GIVE OUT FINANCIAL INFORMATION (bank account number, social security number, eBay/PayPal info, etc.)
* AVOID DEALS INVOLVING SHIPPING OR ESCROW SERVICES and know that ONLY A SCAMMER WILL "GUARANTEE" YOUR TRANSACTION.

I am sure this is a scam. Paypal would not withhold a deposit. However, did you email Paypal? (not using the link from the email or replying to the email but going to the paypal website and ask them a question)

Yeah that Email address is not from PayPal but I figured to have a little fun and send this email:

Ok I just got an Email from PayPal. Unfortunately I can't send it today but will do so by tomorrow.
Thanks you sooo much! Due to bad economy I lost my job, my wife needs to work overtime and we are still
barely able to buy food for our kids. This will help us alot. You are a really go person.

God bless you!!
John

you should send him a fake USPS tracking number.

EDIT: even better, you should send him a box with a note inside telling him he's silly.

This whole local buyer only thing is kind of silly when you think about how much business is done on Ebay everyday.

In this case something doesn't sound right if paypal is asking for shipping confirmation. If the payment would have been sent with no strings attached then I'd say it's legit.

Why don't you call paypal first and make sure everything looks good. If the shipment address is international the forget about it.
