Obviously something like Lost or The Dark Knight is necessary on BD but would you really want to spend that much more to have a sitcom on Blu? It can get really expensive to only buy BDs, so do you settle for DVDs when there may not be a huge advantage?

+1. There have been some movies and shows that have not come out on BD that I have picked up just because there wasn't a blu-ray release, ie, The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard, Entourage seasons, etc. Generally if its available on BD, I go with the Blu Release.

I only buy movies on Blu-ray that I personally really enjoyed (whether they are Razzie or Oscar winners, it doesn't matter to me what other people think about them). They also have to pretty good quality in the picture and audio departments on Blu. They have to be the kind of film where the better audio and visual of Blu-ray directly affect my viewing experience. For me this currently means very limited Blu buying of comedies and chick flicks. |

I am largely blu-exclusive. I do pick up the occasional DVD when I think it's something unlikely to come to blu-ray. Last week I bought Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip complete series on DVD for $15 at Target.
I won't buy a DVD just because it's not on blu-ray yet, and I won't buy a DVD if a blu-ray is available. |

Same here. I will only buy BD's unless I know the show will never be released on that format. The last regular DVD set I bought was both seasons of "The Monkees" TV series that I enjoyed as a kid; not much chance of that being released on BD.

if the entire series is on BR then yes otherwise i just stick with DVD
like big bang, burn notice etc. only reason i jumped on supernatural seasons 3 and 4 is because i know 1+2 is coming, i got rid of burn notice s2 on BR because it was a poor transfer and they aren't bringing 1 and 3 on BR ill buy pretty much anything on BR but like i said if its only 1 season (like 24) ill just keep my dvds and get the dvd seasons for 10-15 and wait for the BR to come out if they do |
