help me - Blu-ray Forum

i have a lcd 720p and a ps3 hooked up with a hdmi cable but when i watch blu-ray movies they come in on 1080i.why is this.i want them to play in 720p all my games play in 720p but the movies 1080i.how do i fix this.

On the PS3 remove the check from the 1080i video option...

You actually want the movies to play at 1080i. They will look better at that resolution than 720p.

And you can't play BD movies in 720p with the current firmware.

If you force/check 720 when playing 1080 Blu-ray movies they will be played at 480. If you have 720 and 1080 checked 1080 movies and 1080 games will be played at 1080 and your display will fit that into 720p LCD, and 720 games wil be played at 720.
