Default Speakers for my Onkyo 806

I'm looking for some speakers to go with my recently purchased 806. My budget is $1500. I wanted to get the paradigm phantom cinema gaming speakers just because its an all in one and I'm not familiar with mixing and matching. I saw them at Engadget but I dont seem to find them anywhere. But anyhow any insight would be much appreciated. I apologize if my post doesn't belong here.

From what I can gather it looks like those speakers were discontinued. If you like Paradigm (and there's no reason not to- they're a great company) have you looked at/listened to something else in their lineup?

Size requirements or restrictions?

How about the SVS SBS-01 system?

Thumbs up speakers are very personal so you need to just listen yourself

I would recommend that you get the mains and the center the same brand, audition every brand you can locally, even some outside of your price range, then shop online and you just might find some of the ones outside your budget within your reach.

My preference as far as brands that consistently sound good for every model are Canton and ADS.

There are some great Internet direct companies to check out as well.

Acsend
Axiom
Aperion( I own these, check sig)
SVS

A lot of these companies can make their speakers with higher grade materials and better build quality than the big name brands in store in the same price range.

Most of the companies also offer in home audition 30-day trial period with free shipping both ways.

Check them out..

Go with a different subwoofer. If you like Klipsch you may like HSU,SVS, or Axiom. If you like Paradigm you may also like Aperion. My best advise to you is to listen. You have a pretty good budget. Take a Saturday and do some listening (thats for the Klipsch,Paradigms, and whatever other brands you have in mind). As far as internet brands go - look at the reviews - professional and personal. Go to the sites and research the speakers and if they hit your fancy - try them out. Its all up to you my friend - you will have to live with them
