Why no upscaling on Blu's SD bonus features? - Blu-ray Forum

Can anyone explain why the standard def bonus features on Blu-rays cannot upscale to 1080p, like a DVD?

They really look like crap on my display without upscaling.

Forgive me if this is a NOOB question.

How have you confirmed that it's not upscaling? I'm showing my PS3 still sending a 1080p signal, which would be upscaled.

Great Point! I never thought of this...lol! I know for a fact that the bonus SD features dont upscale due to my Bravia "telling" me that its being displayed in SD.

I have a PS3 and a Samsung 550. Not sure what signal the PS3 is sending but my TV says that its only displaying 720x480.
