in the news part of this site; an announcement in CES 09

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=2257

So what does this really mean? I was planning to buy a new receiver today and am now wondering should I again wait and see. A smaller pin connector? I'd hope there would be adapters. Does this mean that equipment bought before this new HDMI spec has been rendered obsolete?

Someone explain, please.....

So does that mean new receivers wont have old HDMI plug ins any more? Becuase I was planning on getting a new 1080p TV and receiver in a year or 2 but use my ps3 for blu-ray so I still need old HDMI plugs.

there is no reason for them to have to change the connector as both are 19pin. the only real reason to want to do this would be to make it non BC how about using the same connector and cable and just making it so those features only work if between 2 new pieces of hardware but still be BC
