Yeah..... im looking for a plasma Tv, since im on a budget i considered a tv:
which is pdp-5070hd (Pioneer) but i dont know whats the Contrast Ratio is.. and i aint buying a plasma tv unless i know the contrast ratio pdp-5070hd has 1366x786 (720p) native (HDCP-HDMI) so i want it but whats the Contrast ratio? Please help Also if anyone can recommend me any other Plasma tv around $1500? with specs close to this: 720p has to be native (1280x720 or more) 1080p processing (not displaying but accepting 1080p) HDCP compliant, not less than 42", contrast ratio 10000:1 minimum) Thanks! Prefferably if anyone owns or knows Contrast ratio of pdp-5070hd tell me! ![]() |

If money is no object, then the Pioneer 5000ex is the TV widely regarded as the best Plasma screen available right now. (50 inch Full 1080p HD of course).
The downside is the price. However I expect the price of it to drop significantly this summer. Zotar. |

Yeah, I heard if you play video games alot...you should go with an LCD. Because Plasma TVs contain gases that will permanently burn an image onto the screen if displayed long enough.

But any type of display can be affected by burn in, it's not just a Plasma thing - although Plasmas are most susceptible.

I'm holding out on a Laser TV. They should be here Q4 of this year and supposedly reasonably priced.

It too will diminish and "burn out" with age. |

but it is easier (and cheaper) to replace the backlight than the gas
granted, we are talking 60k hrs later |
