Default Can my player handle 1080i/ 50 hz ???

The model is Panasonic DMP-BD 10 A.

And what about a Sony BDP-S 350 ??

What does 50 hz really mean?

50Hz - 50 vibrations per second. For BDs, it means 50 interlaced video fields per second. It is used to store 1080i50 video onto BD where the video feed is actually 1080p25 (two interlaced fields equals one progressive frame).

1080i50 is part of the BD video spec. However most content generating these video signal is from the European countries as ATSC is 1080i30. So the BDs must be region free for you to enjoy these titles on your Region 1 player. Most newer HDTVs also support 1080i/p25.

Never heard of 50Hz before other than overseas. For power source, 50Hz means 50 cycles per second. Electronics sold in the US are designed to operate in 60Hz. Running an equipment designed for 60Hz in 50Hz power supply will draw a higher current for your equipment which might cause overheating of your component. Not sure if this answer your question.
