Default Pensacola anyone?!!!

Do any of you live in the Pensacola, Crestview, Milton, Pace, Ft Walton Floirda areas or Mobile, Brewton Alabama area? I wonder how many people around me actually are members of Blu-ray.com. It's very hard to find people interested in this type of stuff in this area.

I live in Mobile. I work in Robertsdale about halfway between P'cola and Mobile. I haven't been to Pensacola in a while. I used to go every year for Memorial weekend until they spoiled it by letting people camp on the beach.

That's cool!!! I'm thinking about starting a HT Club, fellowship - or whatever you want to call it for people in this area! If you're ever in the Milton area, PM me and my wife and I will give you a demo of the system . I know of a few other HTphiles but not many. I know you have heard of AllPro Sound but we now have a new High-end dealer in Pace that sells Quad gear!!! He specializes in Quad and Whafedale. Tryin' to get us HTphiles together! P.S. nice Shar-pei in you gallery (if I'm correct).

Sadly....... it will be a while before I can upgrade any of my gear.... except maybe my receiver which I am hoping to do around my B-day in May. I am sending my wife off to Hawaii with her friends in March for her B-Day..... so she can't complain too much if I want one new HT toy. I would like to hear what a real audio demo room sounds like though. Thanks on my dog...... she's mostly pei. Her father was a pei..... and her mother was half pei half pit bull.

That's cool , any thoughts on what type of receiver you will be looking for? Oh and the demo was actually of my home system but yeah - you could also go to the demo room in Pace - He's got it set up nice out there. My demo invitation had the purpose of introducing people to different things that some people think they can't do (identical speakers, HTPC's...that work, Projectors ect.) Since you own Klipsch, I also have a passion to let people hear the Heritage speakers. Its hard to find a place that demos these. You can usually only special order them, or go through a few online dealers - you will never find Klipsch Heritage speakers at BB or CC. They have a different sound to me than newer Klipsch. But back on subject, It would be cool if you could ever make it here. If I ever get over to Mobile, I might look you up as well - get this HTphile thing off the ground. This is a good basis of system upgrades through trades and such (don't trash your gear - recycle it, in some cases - give it away - don't sell it, it will come back to you in spades!!!)

have you tried Navarre Beach, it' smaller and more secluded, less crowd. the condo/townhouses on the beach are convenient

Well Pensacola Beach on Memorial weekend is a big event in my community. Tens of thousands of folks like me crammed on to three miles of beach.... with some pretty outlandish set ups. I've seen generators hauled on to the beach to power fountains, blenders, portable jacuzzis..... it's something to se.

That's cool... I might just do that some time! I was hoping that I might still be able to find an Onkyo 805 somewhere around the time of my B-day. If not... I'll probably get an 806.

Well, that's the problem...not really rocking...yet. I was to planning buy a receiver today....then speakers (fronts followed by center followed by sub) as $$$ account allows over the course of the next few months

current and meager setup in profile if interested

I'm not exactly a newcomer but at the same time understanding electronics is like learning a new language for me. I spend more time reading than I do posting here. I am trying to educate myself and love what has happened to the forum over the last year as far as the audio, display and HT sections have really been educational
