Default New to this.

Little bit about me
Hello, Im a 21 y.o. factory worker. I just signed up and was looking at all of the set ups people here have, I have to say they are nice. But Im new into this home theater thing. I am currently still living with mom and dad and Ill be moving into my own place this spring(renting). Building new walls and all that fun stuff wont be a problem for me, the house is owned by my parents.

The house Im moving into has a full basement unfinished, I have friends from work who also do drywalling so building walls will be no problem and my dad is a industrial electrion at the same place I work at, so wireing will be little issue. I know very little about home audio but I know some terms about audio due to car audio, I know about SPL and SQL. I kinda think SQL will be king in home theaters so, this is one of the areas I will need help in. As Im talking about audio I noticed there isnt much going on with people talking about sound proofing. I was just wondering if people just have bare walls? I will start putting this into cats,

Audio
I am a crazy JL audio fan, because as stated before Car audio, I have had my current car stereo for about 2 years now. I have had no problems with my JL amps and speakers at all. I know JL makes home theater audio things but I was wondering if they are at par with what most people have? Other then that Im not to sure where to go.

I also want to know about audio suppression, It will be in a small house and I live in a area with ALOT of older people. Ive seen some simple ways of this in places like recording studios and that seems a little expesive. I was thinking like the good ol' fashion recycled paper type egg cartons covering the walls with some kinda blanket covering them to make it look nice.

Video This is where my biggest problem is at. Im not sure if I want to have a plasma, LCD, or Projector onto a screen. I just dont dont know what's out there, about all I know is 1080p is best 720p is okay and 480i is just lose. Now that's about all I know about video.

Decore
This is just for good looks. I want to get like movie theater things like a popcorn maker movie posters and all that fun stuff to just give it a movie theater feel. Maybe some small vending mechines to make some money off friends? If you have URL's for these types of places it would help.

Ill inculed the seating into this. For seating Im not 100% sure about the room yet because I dont have a set layout. I know I want atleast 3 single seaters and a couch that can have 3 people on it. My question in this area what is a good ratio to rase the row 1 to row 2 to row 3 kinda thing. Off the top of my head I think the celing is about 6 to 7 foot up. No one is over 6 foot tall but me, so yeah...

Electronic goodies
Just give me a idea where to go for lighting items and remotes. I currently have 2 brand new battery back up systems that can support a decent amount for a computer, But it's no name brand quality to it. I want to find a blue ray player cuz I dont want to use my PS3 for this all the time cuz my sisters like to play rock band .

A good HDMI selector would be nice because I dont want to run 20 million wires around so If I could get this all into a central area and just have a remote controlled hdmi selector with low resistance to prevent losing quality and I would like to have these kinda outta sight or if possible out of the room with the screen and speakers in the room. That kinda brings me to my next little problem climit controll for the electronics, I know they have indoor climit contollers but I only have seen them at work for in door A/C units to keep the computer systems cool on the floor but they can drip water on the floor and at work it's just cement and maybe a few hundred caps.

Current HDMI items
PS3
Xbox 360
Dell Studio 17 laptop (HDMI but Im not sure it's HIGH def.)

Final Thoughts

Ill try to get some pics of the area here soon but I would like to get some input from more seasoned home theater wo/men.

Also this will kinda be a semi budget item. I dont make big bucks but I can make up to 4000 a month but that would make things hard, I would have the money but no time 12 hour night shift.

Also I dont believe I've seen anyone say or post good Items to clean screens and the electronics and things of that sort, maybe someone can do some tests and that stuff?
