Default New PixelJunk in early 2009, Dungeons coming later

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2009/01/13/...s-coming-later

Kentaro Yoshida, one of Q-Games' studio directors, has confirmed in an interview with GamaSutra that a new PixelJunk game will be with us soon. Sooner than we'd anticipated, in fact. Yoshida says that "a new team has started in on the next PixelJunk project. We have not yet begun publicizing the game, but it is on schedule to be released in early 2009." That's now!

It seems that the game that was announced at GDC 2008, PixelJunk Dungeons, will not be the fourth in the series. It requires more development time and, as a result, will be released at some point after PixelJunk 4. Whatever that may be. Yoshida also states that "2D graphics have been a hallmark of the series so far, but we are looking to incorporate 3D graphics and take the series in new directions." An exciting prospect. Hopefully a 3D PixelJunk will retain the charm of the 2D versions.

sorry if i missed this news somewhere else..i remember something pixel related, but dunno if it got a proper thread

Cool I really enjoyed PJ monsters, and Edens' demo was good I just haven't purchased it yet. I didn't try the first game though, is it any good?

interesting havnt heard of this game if it is not dungeons.. and if dungeons required more development time does that mean this game didn't require alot of development time? Meaning it could be very simple...

I hope they do not go down the 3D path too much.. they just cannot compete with full studios on 3D games.. stick with what works.. there is obvisouly still good money being spent on quality 2D games...

I'm really curious how they will enter the 3D world while keeping their original visual style
