Hi,
I have the RM6750 set-up now and generally happy as I don't have a large room and they do the job fairly well. Not 100% happy with the included sub as much at times though. I'm looking at getting the PSW10 Sub as i''ve read good things here on it and i'm sure it's a good upgrade from the one listed above. Anyone in a similar situation that may have upgraded, or already has, and has any thoughts on this Sub? Thanks in advance guys, I ![]() |

I live in a small/moderately sized apartment and have had the PSW10 for about 2 years now... sounds GREAT! Not the biggest/most powerful sub in the world by the specs, but it definitely does the job. Has all the necessary controls, only thing you might need is a Y-splitter as there is no LFE inout, just composite red and whites (although you could just go sub out to the white composite). Get the adapter, though, and you're all set! Also has speaker level inouts if you don't have a sub out (though I feel the sub out definitely sounded better than when I was using the speaker level inputs).

I'm also in the same boat as you. I don't have the same exact speakers but I'm in need of a small budget powered subwoofer too. Have you looked at the Energy ESW-8 like I am. It's been getting better review than the Polk PSW10 for the folks at avsforums.

I tell you what, this thing rocks the house. I have a Def Tech 8" sub in our living room that sounds cleaner, but this thing does the job. Needed something for our den and this was on sale at Amazon for $120. In fact this passed Sautrday, I was up late watching Casino Royale in the den and the wife comes out at 1:30 am yelling at me to turn it down!

What exactly is LFE on a subwoofer? Fairly new when it comes to speakers. Thanks in advance.

this sub does not have an lfe input on it, instead it used component cables (red and white) all you have to do though is turn the corssover to the highest point to achieve the LFE effect. |

My Def Tech has one sub cable going into the back and I think it says LFE input. Could this be why it sounds "cleaner" than the PSW10? Thanks for your information so quickly.

sub connectors on receivers is just a basic rca jack, i connector, subs that have an LFE input take 1 rca connector, so essentially you have a cable with 1 rca connector on each end. The PSW10 just used 2 rca jacks, you lose nothing in regards to sound quality.

Check out the PA-120 if you want a sub that's cheap ($229 shipped) and still gives you great bang for your buck. |
