Default What to power JL Audio 13W7?

Anybody using JL Audio for their home theater? I've never heard it in a house but I have an extra one from my vehicle and a box and I wanted to see if it would work in my theater setup...?

I know JL Audio makes a subwoofer for in home. One of there series uses a single 13W7 and the other one uses two! And supposedly the amp pushes like 3800watts RMS, but it's like $7500.

Anywho, where could I find an amp that would push lets say 300-1000RMS for $1000 or so? (This is for in home, not for my vehicle) And it the sub has dual 1.5ohm voice coils, so 3 ohm is what I'd be running.

3 ohms is usually too low for home amplifiers and since you would most likely want to bridge the amp to get the most power out of it that would mean that each channel would again see 1.5 ohms and that will definitely cook the amp.

Onkyo's website has an amp that does 230watts at 3 ohms I believe but its not powerful enough for the speaker. I was pushing 1000watts RMS to it in my Titan, so I want atleast 500watts would be nice in the house.

Perhaps like dj equipment type of power?

Okay, you must mean this one:

http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=...lass=Amplifier

The specs on that amp are not that great plus it does not look like you can bridge it. That means in order to run 3 ohms load, you have to wire your sub in series and only use a single channel of that amp - kind of a waste.....

Would something like this work and plug into the preout on my Onkyo receiver?

I think I may have found something here, but for home theater applications it might sound like a$$.....?
