Default Peter Pan 1960 NBC With Mary Martin

The 1955 and 1956 Kinescopes were released on Blu Ray a few years ago, they aren't HD, because of their age, and the fact that they were quite literally a camera filming a tv screen (in black and white despite the fact that that both broadcasts were color). But it is so amazing those pieces of TV and Broadway history were preserved. However the 1960 version that was taped and not performed live, has only been released on VHS, Laserdisc, and a long out of print DVD release.

I know any future release would be SD 4:3 (maybe 1:66.1 if the quality is ok enough) since there isn't much you can do with footage from tape as opposed to film, but I'd love to see this re-released in some form.

This would be a tricky one for Blu-ray. It was, as I recall, a Kinescope, with no actual film shot. My DVD of this looks hazy and lacking any contrast, so trying to prep for 1080p would have to be a Herculean (possibly impossible) task.

The 1955 and 1956 versions only exist as Kinoscopes, so their quality will most likely never be better than they are on the blu ray release (which is hazy, in black and white, and looks like frames were blended). The 1960 version was actually taped and edited together (one of the early taped presentations on TV), and not performed live like the previous 2 shows. I don't know if they have a tape source better than what was released on DVD in the 90s, and what they'd be able to do with it, but since the DVD is out of print anyway, it'd be nice to see it have a wide release again.
Also, there are some bits of dialogue and scenes deleted in the 1960 version that were cut for time. So if they can find those full clips someday, that would be amazing.
