Default Home Theater “Mock Up” Programs/Websites

I can’t remember who’s gallery it was in, but I’ve seen some guys use a program or a website that you can use to do a mock up of your Home Theater.

Putting in things like the tv, the components, furniture, wall color.

Does anyone have any good recommendations???

I have seen many guys use Google Sketch-Up. I found it to be a bit involved however.....

I used Microsoft Visio and Google Sketchup. Both great, but Google Sketchup is free.

You can see pics of how close it came in my pics under my avatar. You can see the sketches under Work In Progress folder.

MS Visio

Google Sketch-up

REAL THING

I'm pretty new to SketchUp but you did an amazing job with that. Did you actually create your speakers and projector on Sketchup or just import them somehow?

Yeah I just imported them. There are a lot of templates on Google itself. Including my Projector!!! It was really cool. Didn't have to create any objects. You can search for them right off the Google Sketch-Up site. I also hybridized models like stands and made my own, for like my center speaker.

You might want to also start with someone else's model. Might give you a starting point to play around with.

I used http://www.floorplanner.com, you're allowed to design one free floor plan but I found it a hell of a lot easier to work with for a basic idea than Google Sketchup.
