Default Heavenly Sword: Will it ever get trophy support?

on The Trophy support page on playstation's page it says that Heavenly Sword "may" get trophy support.

I understand the team behind the game have abandoned it, but anyone have any info either way on this?

I'm going to have to say no. With ALL games having trophy support now I doubt many, if any of the older games will be getting it. They MAY surprise us with something, but I doubt it...

nope it most likley never will. Im pretty sure the developers Ninja Theory said that they are done with the series. so I dont see them going back to the original and adding new content which trophy support would be

I can confirm he was. hahah.

I wish, but not likely. I'd like Resistance 1 trophies too, just for an excuse to pick up the game again.

lol

I actually thought of this while watching Fringe tonight. Anna Torv (Nariko) stars on it,and for whatever reason while she was beating some bad guy ass, I thought "hmm...wonder if Heavenly Sword ever got trophy support?"

ha ha ha...I'm such a nerd.

It's really too bad. Heavenly Sword was a _tremendous_ game. And the critics just completely deep sixed it.

That must have been very hard for Ninja Theory to swallow after putting so much obvious love and effort into the title only to have it destroyed by console politics. I gotta wonder how much money was involved in getting the reviewers to outright lie about the quality of this game.

I mean... their excuse about it was that it was 'too short'. Well, Halo 3 was even shorter. What score did that one get?

I know some people in the industry, and they talk about that the reviewers on Heavenly Sword... at least in the case I know about... only played the game for an hour or two. Didn't even play it long enough to reach the really epic parts of the game, and basically cast judgement without really even looking at the thing. I imagine it was lip service for them to have bothered looking at it at all. The score, it seemed, was already determined before the disc was even inserted.

Yeah, the too short thing was unfair. Plenty of other games have come out and been well reviewed that are as short or shorter than HS. I personally found it the perfect length. It ended before I got bored of it. But to the trophy question, no way no how. Ninja theory has unfortunately made it quite clear they're done with HS and not touching it anymore. So they definitely wouldn't go back on such an old game and do it. Too bad, would've liked to play a sequel.

At this stage I really doubt we will see anymore old game with trophy patch... MGS4, HS, R1, Assassin's creed are all good game that would have been fun to have trophys.. but like other said there are too many new release with trophie now

Id really love for this game to get trophies. I thoroughly enjoyed it the first time I played it, and would love an excuse to play it again. Best game in its genre so far this gen for me (better than DMC4 or NGS)

Does it have to be the original developer that creates the trophy patch? If they have NT's consent and Sony wants to add it couldn't it just be farmed out to someone else to do or something? I can't see it as being a massive amount of work to do as no change it needed to gameplay or anything (other than adding a counter if you do a trophy for killing 1,000,000 enemies etc.), it's just complete level get a trophy, complete game get a better trophy, complete game on hardest difficulty (can't remember if it has a difficulty setting it's been so long since I played it) get a better trophy. Get all trophies get the platinum.

Or am I being too simplistic?

Well, I don't care about it getting trophy, being a good game is enough.

I would love Trophy support for this game, especially since it would give me a reason to play it again and finish on Hell Mode.

The "short game" criticism is more on longevity and replayability than anything else.

What they should do is have some DLC (I'm thinking a simple versus mode with variable "boss level/maps" (where we fought the bosses) and make them selectable (Shen, Bohan, Shadow/Monster Bohan, Nariko, Heavenly Nariko, Roach, Blade-guy, snake-girl, etc). I'd pay 10 bucks for it. Maybe a bit more if they let you go online. They'd have to do a patch to prepare for it and said patch would include the trophy support.

Another thing would be some mini-games. I could see great multiplayer opportunities on the aftertouch scenes. Archery death matches, Robin Hood style tournaments, Horse, etc.

There were plans on DLC, I recall Ninja Theory saying they were going to do it. But since the game didn't sell as expected they didn't.
Also Sony owns the IP, so if Sony wants they could make a sequel, made by another dev team.

Would've loved to see a sequel to this game, one of the best games I've played in years, really pulls you in with the story. Really did not like the reviews I read of it, felt like they played a completly different game than me.

+1

The failure of Heavenly Sword is one of the biggest injustices in video game history.
