Default samsung tv and ps3 blu ray

Hey I am trying to get the best picture out of my samsung tv and ps3 blu ray player. Tv goes to either 720p or 1080i which i have changed to 720 since now i realize has a better picture. (unforunately don't have 1080p) My movies don't seem to have the same picture as one of blockbuster or other stores. Is this due to lack of 1080p? Or does my tv really need calibration???? I have never done this so any help is greatly appreciated.

THanks

are u running on HDMIs?

it could be the PQ quality of ur samsung vs whatever tv was in blockbuster,

the 1080p vs 720p makes a difference only if u were standing like closer then 5 feet id say... i assume theyre both under 40" monitors, so u wouldnt really notice a difference unless it was 1080p and u were like a foot away. U should still get good PQ from a 720P set and the calibration could play part in your PQ clarity.

If your TV can change resolution, it sounds like it's not a plasma or LCD. Correct? What type of technology and what size is it?
