First Surround Sound Set Up

I'm looking to buy my first surround sound and need some help picking which is best for what i have and my budget.

I have a 52" samsung Lcd 1080p tv. And i am using the ps3 with hdmi hook up & comcast cable hd/dvr box with hd component hook up ( but could use hdmi just dont have another one right now)

Looking for a 5.1 receiver that sounds good. I been looking at yamaha, onkyo & sony. Around $300 and under is what im looking at. I have been looking on amazon.com & going to frys elec this weekend also.

& I also need a speaker package and pretty good brand with not too big speakers. I been looking at polk but open to any.

The budget for the speakers around 2 or 3 hundred.

Also something not too complicated to hook up.

Guess i'm just asking because i dont know what to look for when im out looking around or looking on the internet.
