Enslaved Ninja Theory has today announced the name of their 2010 PS3 and Xbox 360 video game.
With Namco Bandai as their publishing partner, Ninja Theory, developers of PlayStation 3 exclusive Heavenly Sword, today announced their next game. Enslaved will be coming to PS3s and Xbox 360s in 2010.
The Cambridge developer split ties with previous publisher Sony Computer Entertainment after the tepid reception of Heavenly Sword, despite a star-studded cast, beautiful graphics and arguably the best facial animation in video games.
The multi-platform Enslaved takes players on a gripping journey through the tactical and post-apocalyptic adventure of two dissimilar characters; the strong and brutish Monkey, and the technologically savvy woman Trip (AI controlled).
With a mix of combat, strategy and platforming, the game will bring beautiful graphics, seamless animation and engrossing gameplay.
150 years in the future the world has been struck by a dwindling population and merciless robots. Captured by a ship rumoured to "harvest people" both Monkey and Trip seek to escape, but Trip sees Monkey's strength as her only hope. She hacks into his slave headband and ties him to herself - if she dies, he dies.
Therefore, players must make sure Monkey and Trip work together to navigate the world and overcome the obstacles and enemies in their way.
Andy Serkis will be reprising his role as director, script writer and actor in the game, taking on the role of Monkey.
World-class composer and musician Nitin Sawhney will also be returning to create the score for Enslaved.
Novelist and screenwriter Alex Garland (The Beach, 28 Days Later) will act as co-writer on his first video game project.
Enslaved will be out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.
