Terminator 2 Blu-ray Re-release?

Does anyone know if they will re-release T-2 on Blu-ray? It's only $10 at my local Wal-Mart on Blu-ray, but it lacks significant special features. I wonder if "Terminator Salvation" and James Cameron's "Avatar" will make them re-release T-2. If anyone has any information I would love to hear about it.

Yeah I have that DVD. I'm just asking if there will be re-release of T2 with Terminator Salvation coming out in May. Whether or not its on Blu-ray or DVD.

Just import the UK or French version, they are supposed to be of great quality.
I'm getting the French one at the end of the month.

A new version is in a planning stages according to Van Ling posts on another forum, in the meantime, definetely get the french blu if you don't want to wait.

Rumor: New Terminator 2 Release Coming Soon?

Retailers have been alerted to a new Blu-ray release of 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' with no release date. An "Endo Skull Edition" release was also revealed, indicating a possible limited edition version in the works as well. Now, we normally do not report on placeholders, but being that a new Terminator film is due for theatrical release this May, and industry insiders have mentioned a possible new release, we can say its a safe bet that a new Blu-ray release is on its way.

As mentioned, no firm date (or specs, for that matter) have been released, but you can bet that the studios love for timing home video releases with theatrical releases won't be lost here - a May date is looking very probable.

Originally released by Lionsgate in 2006, the current Blu-ray release of 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' features an MPEG-2 video encode accompanied by a 6.1 DTS-ES soundtrack. Most likely, this new release will feature an AVC video encode along with a DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack, which should yield a tangible upgrade on both fronts.

Stayed tuned as we wait for official work from the studio.
