Did you set up the inputs on the Onkyo Menu? You have to tell the receiver to set the HDMI input (where you plugged your ps3 "hdmi 1 or hdmi2) to Game/Tv.

Can you can see the onkyo on screen menu on your tv right now? Are you sure your tv is on the correct HDMI input? And Onkyo is set to HDMI Monitor Out: On?

Set your PS3 to LPCM, check all of the audio boxes in the PS3 setup menu and select the HD audio tracks from your BD menus.

All that your receiver can accept. If I remember correctly, I think the PS3 might automatically choose them for you. I remember one time I was messing with the the settings. Changed them around and then when I went back through the audio set up it choose all the right ones by itself. I don't remember what I did for the PS3 to do that.

It should show Multichannel LPCM

It won't show the DTS-HD or TrueHD since the PS3 is doing the decoding.

Do you have a 7.1 setup?

The PLXIIx is only if you want to matrix 5.1 audio into a 7.1 setup.

Hit the button on the receiver that goes through all the different sound options (i.e. Mono, All channel, etc...) and leave it at multichannel. Let me turn on my PS3 and put a movie in to verify.

On my Onkyo receiver, it displays it as MultiCH. Just go the the options until you see that or some variation of it.
