Default Suggestions for side and rear speakers please.

Currently my home theater setup is listed in my signature. Pics will be posted sometime this week. My fronts and center are set, I don't want to change them. However my current side speakers are onkyo fronts from a HTIB system, and my rear speakers are non existant. Due to the setup of the home theater room, I have decided I want to do some flush mount speakers for the sides, and some flush mount speakers in the ceiling for the rears to complete my 7.1 system.

However, I have never had flush mount speakers, so I know nothing about them. Are they as good as regular speakers? What brand is good to go with. I was thinking klipsch if I can find them, but are there speakers that are just as nice for a lower price?

That's another question, where can I buy flush mount speakers?

Thank you for the help, and again I will post pictures sometime this week.

Not sure exactly what you mean by 'flush mount' speakers. I'm imagining you mean they stick out from the wall a bit, and not in-wall? I have Aperion 534SS for surrounds in my 5.1 system, and I'd highly recommend them. (They've actually been replaced by a new model.) They're tapered at the ends (imagine 1/2 of a hexagon) so the edges stick out only a couple of inches, so they don't look as big on the walls. (See the link in my signature below for pics.) They're also bipole/dipole switchable which will give you flexibility if you like them one way for movies, the other for music. I keep mine on bipole for everything. I think 7.1 is overkill if you have a good 5.1 system, but if you do go that route, set your back surrounds to dipole and the sides to bipole.

Based on your specs, it sounds like you have a nice system already. Adding quality surrounds will be the icing on the cake!

Yeah, I meant flush mount as in, the face of the speakers would be flush with the face of the wall. Nice home theater you got there. I like your side speakers, but don't want something that sticks out from the wall if I can avoid it, because the width of my room isn't alot. maybe 11 feet at most. I will post pics tomorrow.

One advantage of the speakers as they are is that the drivers face opposite directions and give a more diffuse sound. Not sure if they have flushmount or in-walls that will do they same. My room is about 15 feet wide, so it's a little wider than yours, but my speakers never seemed to stick out or be in the way.

Good luck in your search.

Where'd ya get that couch? Or is it a loveseat? I think it's the same as what I have, but different colors. (http://www.finishabasement.com/photo...s/DSC01286.htm) I have one with brown leather and tan microfiber. The couch reclines on both sides, and the loveseat has two recliners w/a cup holder in the middle. Same? Or just similar

We bought it at a store here called furniture row outlet. It is the loveseat. Cupholders in the middle, and two reclining seats.

Yup. That's the same one. We have Art Van stores in Mich- that's where we bought ours. SO comfortable! Fallen asleep many times on that couch watching... whatever!

Not sure of the brand, thought it was just an Art Van brand. Looks like it's from the Paloma collection. Here's the link: http://www.artvan.com/webapp/wcs/sto...30006_30000_-1

Seems like your talking about in-walls. If flush mount you mean that if you were to run your hand on the wall and then over the speaker it would be practically flat/same level as the wall? If thats the case then your talking about in-walls.

I have no experience with inwalls but most speaker companies make in-walls as well as their usual line up. As far as sounding good well thats totally up to you, but I think floorstanders>bookshelves>inwalls. There are great in-wall out there but they are $$$$.
