Default Elvis Presley movies on Blu-ray.

As far as I know only 3 of Elvis' 33 movies are out in Blu-ray format. Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las Vegas and Elvis on Tour. Does anyone know if there are plans to release all of Elvis' movies in Blu-ray format?

I surely would be interested in them too!
Perhaps a box set like Marilyn Monroe's..

Love Me Tender and King Creole are the top two I would upgrade for.

There hasn't been any news about any other releases yet.Hopefully we won't have to wait to long or for some of his better films to arrive on blu.

Thanks to Col. Tom Parker's stifling control of Elvis' career most of these films suffer from being too formulaic albeit commercially successful. A handful of these might warrant an upgrade to blu.

it is indeed sad that more Elvis films aren't out on bd, but I have noticed that all the Warner controlled titles are available in HD streaming now.
the problem, of course, is that most of the unreleased Warner ones aren't very good.
Paramount controls most of the early better films.
of course now Warner is distributing Paramount, so maybe eventually they will come out, but I'm not holding my breath anymore.

There are quite a few Elvis movies I would like to see get the Blu treatment-

1. Loving You- A charming 50's effort with a great soundtrack and filmed in VistaVision. This could look stunning on Blu.

2. King Creole - A great gritty teenage melodrama set in New Orleans. Great soundtrack. Directed by Michael Curtiz.

3. Flaming Star- This is Elvis's best film, and for once an entirely dramatic role. An anti-racist western directed by the great Don Siegel.

4. Follow That Dream - an enjoyable lightweight comedy in the vein of The Beverly Hillbillies.

5. Girl Happy- Perhaps the most sly and underrated of all Presley movies, this one is a sort of self-conscious satire of his other 60's films, and Elvis is clearly in on the joke. I think his screen chemistry with Shelly Fabares rivals what he had with Ann Margaret in Viva Las Vegas.

6. That's The Way It Is - The concert doc with the best performance footage ever filmed at an Elvis concert.

I also wish Warner would fix that criminally sabotaged intro on the On Tour Blu-Ray, but that probably won't happen.

I will buy them all.... everyone that is released. I was fortunate to have seen Elvis in concert in April of 1977, just a few months before he died. It was great. I will always remember that night.

Plus... it will make Angel (wife) very happy to have more Elvis in 1080P.

wow.
well that's a start even if his role is a supporting one in that film.
Also:
[Show spoiler]the only film in which Elvis' character dies at the end.

They just added That's The Way It Is:

New Elvis Titles

"Elvis: That’s the Way It Is" - Two Disc Special Edition Premium Digibook
With thousands of feet of materials including sequences added to capture with greater intimacy Elvis' performances and his creative process behind-the-scenes, the previously released Elvis: That’s The Way It Is - Special Edition is now being made available as a Blu-ray™ two disc Special Edition Premium Digibook. Denis Sanders (Shock Treatment) directed this “rockumentary.” Academy Award® nominated Lucien Ballard (The Wild Bunch) was the cinematographer, following the show’s development from rehearsal to stage.

Disc 1 (DVD) 2001 Special Edition and Special Features:
- Patch It Up: The Restoration of Elvis: That's The Way It Is
- 12 Outtakes - song/nonmusical sequences
- 1970 Original Theatrical Version

Disc 2 (BD) 1970 Original Theatrical Version and Special Features:
- 12 Outtakes - song/nonmusical sequences

"Viva Las Vegas" 50th Anniversary Premium Digibook
In his highest grossing movie, Elvis shares the screen with Ann-Margret, easily creating the most electrifying teaming Elvis had on screen. He plays Lucky Jackson, a Grand Prix race driver working at a casino to raise cash for a new engine; she’s a hotel swimming instructor - and the romantic action revs up from their first meeting. George Sidney, who also directed Ann-Margret in Bye Bye Birdie, combines the hormonal heat wave with
fascinating sights of ’60s Las Vegas. David Winters (West Side Story) choreographed the 10 musical song-and-dance scenes which also featured his dancers. Songs include the high-roller title track, the stars’ duet on “The Lady Loves Me,” her sultry “Appreciation” and The King’s version of Ray Charles’ “What’d I Say.” The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 stereo.

Special Features:
- Commentary by Steve Pond, rock journalist and author of “Elvis in Hollywood”
- Featurette Kingdom: Elvis in Vegas
- Theatrical trailer

Unfortunately, both of these were shot on video, so putting them on Blu-ray will not help!
