I was just wondering, is it reasonable to assume that Amazon is stocking quantities of BD and HD DUD relative to the amount of sales they are seeing for each respective format?
As we know, sales rank is not really an accurate way to judge sales, so if my assumption above is correct, we can get a pretty good idea of how the formats are actually selling. Based on the current quantities in stock, which I got from the product wars, http://www.eproductwars.com/index.cfm, Amazon has 70K BD, 19K HD DUD. So from this, we can estimate that BD is outselling HD DUD by roughly 7:2 at Amazon. Additionally, quantities of BD have more than tripled since the beginning of march, while HD DUD quantities have only gone up 50%. This means that sales of BD have gone up 300% in the same time HD DUD sales have only gone up 50%. So much for the cheap player argument. ![]() |
