Default Is it weird or is it just me?

Me and my girlfriend have been together for over six years and we go to the movies often. The thing is though we go to different movies and meet afterwards. She loves the romantic comedies, cute cartoons, and other types of films I'm really not interested in. Me I like more serious drama, character driven, thinking man films...indies mostly (but not only) We used to do a you pick/ I pick alternating weeks thing, but I would always feel bad when it was my turn. Please tell me some of you guys/girls do the same thing or something similar. Thanks in advance to all replies.

if me & my wife go out to a movie, we agree on a movie to see together, otherwise we don't go. we maybe see 1 movie together each year.

me & my buddies mostly go to movies together. we all have kids so it's a nice get away for a couple of hours.

if she has no hesitation on picking a movie she wants when it's her turn, u shouldn't feel guilty when it's your turn.

Blu-Benny, you have the right idea. I guess I just know her all too well. She actually has gone as far as to tell me that I should try and find another girl-friend at school (college) who loves indies as I do. Keep in mind she is not being mean or anything like that she just wants me to be happy. Just would be nice to have film tastes in common.

hmmmm..seems strange to me to hit the theater with your s/o and walk in to different theaters....maybe after 6 years you two have some comfortability with it, but I've been with my wife for over twice that long and couldn't fathom driving up to a theater and not watching a movie together.

We go to movies together. It would never cross my mind to bring my wife to the movies and then go see separate movies. It's nice to be able to "compare notes" afterward, and talk about things you liked/didn't like.

I guess I've just never been one to go to any movie by myself, and I know she isn't like that either.

But to each their own. If it works for you, then great.

Yeah, personally I don't mind going to the movies by myself. I try to see a movie a week if time permits. Since I got my HDTV and PS3 it has been less and less. Geez, I went to a 4pm showing of the Wrestler and it was still $10.25???

HAHAHA. I just saw an episode of King Of Queens that they did this! . It eventually got to where they would eat at a different place and then meet back up. HAHAHA. You gotta see the episode, it is hilarious.

This is indeed a message. I'd be looking around. She's probably looking for a sensitive man who loves romantic comedies.

Don't feel bad. My wife and I never go to movies together anymore. She strickly goes to cheezy chick flicks. I like everything else.
