Hey I was wondering if anyone else here is a fan of MMA, I love it and am looking forward to BJ Penn Gsp 2. I am more excited for this fight then I am for the Super Bowl. If I was a betting man I would bet on GSP but I would love to see BJ take it.

no, just GSp's belt for welterweight and I doubt he will murder Bj in the first.

if that happens it will shock me. I like both of them but I would prefer if BJ stayed at lightweight

BJ bothers me to no end and I would love nothing more than to see him finally get humbled this Saturday. I'm excited for the fight, but the fact that BJ leveraged himself into another unearned title shot is ridiculous. So yeah, I want GSP to not only win, but finish him, which I think he can. Great PPV though, and I'm hyped to see if Machida's finally gets knocked off too, although I really think Thiago Silva may be more hype than anything. He's pretty unproven in the big scheme of things.

I like MMA but am starting to think that UFC is having too many pay-per-views. UFC 93's card was an absolute joke, it did not deserve it's own pay-per-view when there was another pay-per-view 2 weeks later. Rich Franklin should never be headlining a card, and there were no big names on the undercard either.
This week's event looks decent though. You look at BJ Penn and he doesn't look at all athletic but he's a good fighter. I still would take St-Pierre in this fight though. Not a great undercard on this event either though.

if you are a true MMA fan then there is no such thing as "too much MMA". you don't have to watch them all if it's a problem for you

I hear you but I think Diaz/Guida is going to be fireworks also in terms of quality undercard bouts.

I have no problem with Franklin headlining a card, as long as it isn't against someone like Okami (cough72cough).

Youcan never underestimate BJ, his boxing and his BJJ are amazing. Its his cardio thats a problem. GSP will have much greater conditioning, but BJ is my boy, and cant be counted out.

I'm not a true MMA fan, I like watching it sometimes but usually only catch about 4 pay-per-views a year. I'm not saying the event shouldn't have happened, it just shouldn't have been a pay-per-view. That card was worthy of Spike TV, not a $50 purchase.

for me if it ends early BJ wins, if it ends late then GSP wins...most likely

Me too. Enjoyed it quite a bit as well. I like the rare live event in the afternoon to mix things up.

I know. And it's the knowledge that it's a replay that bugs me, lol. Plus I'm afraid that I will space off and accidentaly jump onto one of the sites I frequent and ruin the results.

I cant wait, I have my weekend planned out. Friday inside MMA on HDnet then Hd net fights, Saturday the fight, and Sunday the Superbowl. BJ chokes out GSP second round. Thats my call. No offense I see you are a GSP fan. I am as well but not against BJ.

I picked him for my av because the pic was cool. could just as easily have been Anderson Silva, BJ, Fedor, Arlovski, Couture, Big Nog, Karo, Rampage etc, based on what the pic looked like

I just watched the replay of BJ vs. GSP 1, man was it bloody. GSP's face reminded me of sloth from the goonies lol

I can't wait for this. I think that GSP is too big and strong and his cardio is too good for BJ to handle for 5 rounds. If it's a quick fight I give it to BJ based on superior striking and submissions but I think GSP takes a 5 round war.
