Default Cracked Disc

So i'm trying to get disc one of planet earth out of that stupid case, i'm lifting from the edges because the button in the middle does absolutely nothing, and then the disc cracks. It is now useless and will not play. I'm not very happy about it at all. Do you think they will send me a new disc?

Has this happened with anybody else?

You can always check their return policy. Usually, they won't give you hard time as long as you're getting the same thing.

Exactly, as long as it's an exchange for the exact same thing, you're fine.

I always fear this same situation. Over the years I have had some stubborn discs and I am still waiting for this to happen to me. It is scary to see a disc literally bend up an inch before it releases from the spindle. Even when your doing it right!

So far, no issues with blu's yet.

In the future if the disc does not pop out with ease, pull up slightly and turn the disc to pop it out.

2 days ago I received my copy of The Guard Post and a piece of the disc was missing!

I have NO idea how this happened, since I didn't find the missing piece! Looks like its about to crack more too I wrote them a mail about the problem, and I attatched the photo..

Edit: Sorry! Large photo

I disagree. There was fault with the disc, the holder, or the manner on which the disc was mounted in the case. Why should the buyer end up losing out?

I agree especially as much as Planet Earth cost they should at
least let you exchange it with no questions asked

jeez, im sure you wouldn't be happy spending $60 on a blu ray and it breaks because of the case holder. To the OP, i think you should tell them the disc was already broken and inside and just ask for the same replacement disc, it worked for me before when i bought a blu ray and the disc wouldn't play.

i bought the dark knight recently, came back home and tried to take the disc with the extras out of the case and i broke it in two pieces, so i went back to the store and they agreed to exchange it without any problem.

because the store will get their money back for the movie, and the consumer will get what s/he paid for.

the thing is there a hub in the center but it does'nt work as a button you can't push down on it to remove the disc since it does'nt move , its quite tricky to remove the disc

Never...

Ever...

pull out your disc with force!

If the center hole is too tight or the prong is too big you simply have to be very gentle and slowly guide the disc off the spindle. If it feels like it is stuck, try twirling the disc around the shaft of the prong while it is still mounted to it. It might loosen up a bit after several rotations. Try gripping your prong between your fingers to pinch it in a tad.

Whatever you do, do not manhandle your disc and try to rip a tight hole off a hard prong! The plastic can be stiff. It isn't worth a cracked disc.
