Default Paranormal Activity Special Edition???

Anyone know if Paramount is planning to double dip on this Blu-ray release? I want to own the movie but I love my commentary tracks, which the initial release didn't have. I would hate to buy it twice.

I'm guessing there will be a special edition release this fall to coincide with the release of Paranormal Activity 2. Anyone heard anything on this?

Thanks in advance!

Question Special VHS Release

Speaking of special editions:

They also released a VHS-version, because of the style you know.

Would it be possible that it's also in widescreen or did VHS only support 4:3?
Cause, seeing the quality and the style of this film, I wouldn't mind seeing this on VHS,
keeping it very simple and stripped-down.
Besides, it's pretty funny to have it in that format.

And then I'll watch it alone as it says "Do not watch this alone!" on the cover...

There were widescreen VHS releases.

If Paramount really cared about its customers, it would recall the existing edition and BURN them all. Holy $#!& that movie sucked. By far the worst of the year, and one of the most overrated, overhyped movies of all time.

You appear to own GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra, so I am not putting much stock in your opinion of movies.

Unless a movie is a clear blockbuster and the studio has let it be known another edition is coming, do not expect the number of double-dips we saw on dvd. A movie like Paranormal Activity is simply not going to get a re-release on Blu-ray. Enjoy the current Blu-ray, because that will be the only edition for purchase in the U.S.

Its pretty clear they will release a Special Edition eventually in conjunction with the release of the 2nd film.

That you can appreciate mindless action films and gorgeous sci-fi films alike.

And you own the remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "Lady in the Water" - what does that mean?

It means nothing, that's what it means. I don't know why some think that one's opinion of a movie has any correlation to one's opinion of another.

I thought it was well made, creepy, and not overrated at all. See how that works?

Actually, GI Joe was horrible (though not nearly as bad as Paranormal). If you're getting that I own it by looking at My Collection, you seem to have missed that it was under the "For Sale" section. I bought it for $5 from the Hollywood Video PV sale exclusively for the purpose of trading/selling.

Nice try, though!

Paranormal is critically acclaimed. GI Joe wasn't. And Paranormal did very very well for being rated R because the word of mouth was phenomenal. So I think more people liked it than didn't.

The big difference is that you will never see me saying that a movie is the "worst" ever or was "the most overhyped of all time." Statements like those are just meant to irritate people who did enjoy the movie in question. The post I commented on had nothing to add to this thread.

Actually, the word of mouth was overwhelmingly "what's all the hype about? That sucked!" It did well because of the marketing department. They were able to manufacture pre-release hype and curiosity, only to have people hugely disappointed when they actually saw it. But they dont care. That's the movie business these days. Do everything you can for a huge opening weekend, and it won't matter if there's huge dropoffs after that because peole hate it.

...and I dont know why you keep bringing up GI Joe. That sucked too, but has nothing to do with this conversation.
