Lord of The Rings Extended Edition, Theater, or Blu-Ray? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey everyone. They are showing extended editions at two theaters starting tonight, and showing all three, over the next three weeks, so a limited run one time showing. I've never seen the extended editions, should I go to the theater, or be happy and watch them on blu-ray?

Both. I never got a chance to see the theatrical releases at the cinema, so I'm definitely going to see them this time.

Dude, dont even think about it !!! Go see it at the theater. Will be an awsome experience. I've seen each LORD movie like 4-5 times at the theater back in 2001-2003, and if i would have the chance to see them again, i would.

PS: Of course, you have to buy the blu-ray too

Any chance of the set dropping to $50 soon with hobbit coming?

Amazon has it for $68- is that the floor?

I bought it last December for $49.99. I imagine it will be around there closer to The Hobbit releasing. Maybe even with movie cash.

Wasn't there a color corrected Fan version (same cut as the regular Extended one but without trhe teal push) of "The Fellowship of the Ring"?

It's my favorite of the Middle Earth films and I own the orignal Canadian 15 disc Blu-Ray version and also bought the Extended Editions on DVD and "Fellowship" as "Theatrical" Blu-Ray.

I really dislike the green sunglass edition of Fellowship on the Extended BD...
