Post Sony KDL-XBR6 LCD Owners!

As you all know Sony released their new line of XBR televisions. (XBR6, 7 and 8)

I am a new and proud owner of Sony's 46 inch XBR6 LCD TV. It really is night and day for gaming and watching movies (especially blu-ray) I couldn't be happier with the quality and aesthetic design.

Owners and fans of this television rejoice and let us know how you feel about this LCD. Let's hear some reviews, opinions, pictures, and everything else XBR6.

XBR's

Hear is the Cnet Editors review for the 52 inch XBR6 (They said 40,46,52 inch were technically the same but the chose to review the largest size) 4 out of 5 stars, woohoo!!

Well think of it this way. The hierarchy of Sony televisions goes like this.

By series from Best to Worst: XBR, Z, W, V, M, N, S.
I think you getting the xbr6 over the v4100 (which is still a great tv) would be a smart move. The xbr6 has better black levels, broader color range and a better overall bravia engine. ascetically not much difference except for the removable speaker bezel and floating glass design towards the bottom. I think any Sony is a good way to go but I feel that they use more unique algorithms in the bravia engines of the xbr's over the v seriers. let me know if you have any questions about the set.

Thanks, i totally agree with you. My mistake was thinking for "true" 24p I didn't need 120Hz- wrong, also thinking if the XBR6 and V, W, Z, all had Bravia Engine 2 and 1080p, then there couldn't be a lot of difference between them. And that was wrong too. If I didnt get the XBR6, it would be Z, but I think I will just get what I really want.

I think the XBR4 is an amazing TV, even right now with all the recently released lcd's. If I had the xbr4 there would be no reason for me to upgrade to the 6, nothing to substantial in difference, just a new engine really (better colors, black levels). I agree with you somewhat about the design. I did like the floating glass of the xbr4 and 5 but for some situations like saving space the new ones are better. the new xbrs have a smaller bezzle, and no floating glass (except for the bottom) which makes the xbrs look like you're getting a bigger picture than the older models. I do think that Sony could have given their premium models a classier look this year but I'm certainly not complaining...the TV is out of the world!!

I totally agree with you vektar I have a 52 XBR4 and I don't like the newer models they mostly look the same I think that the floating glass gives it a more stylist look I love the T.V.

The M/N are the same TV. The N has 5.1, the M does not.
