Default Should I even try to upgrade my Reciever?

Ok, so i have a Sony BDP-S300 and i guess it only will do dolby true hd, through hdmi and it won't do dts-hd, and it doesn't bitstream any hd audio, so it doesn't matter if the reciever can do the decoding or not.

I don't feel like i am explaining this very good. But my question is should i even bother upgrading my reciever to one that can decode the hd audio, because my sony BDP won't send any hd audio, or should i upgrade my blu ray player.

The receiver question is useless until you upgrade your BD player.

Upgrading your receiver could still provide gains in audio quality, even if its not hd audio, if the receiver you would be purchasing has a better amp inside of it or better components. But if you're just wanting to upgrade to get DTS HD-MA, then a new receiver won't help you there, and you're left upgrading your player first.
